Many Firsts
First post in 2009.
First post in quite some time I guess.
Not that it matters anyway, I've been simply too busy to blog since enlisting for National Service. Now that I'm finishing with it soon, time's a much more common resource...
Just came back from a trip to Shanghai recently, its been a while since I went there for Chinese New Year, and WOW to the cold weather there. Day of my arrival greeted me with -9 to -5 deg Celsius. Thank You!
Red Packet money aside, I met lots of people I've not seen since I can't remember when... I should say they're pretty impressed with my oracular skills (bragging notwithstanding of course). I'd say I learn as much as I would from this week as if I stayed there for half a year!
The widely debated topic of foreign talents, workers and students hasn't really been an issue for me really. Not until I found out how many Chinese students are actually studying in Singapore. Scholars aside, there are those rich kids who can never make it in China, yet seeking to find themselves doing well in Singapore. Many of these fail, miserably. Foreign workers too, those "Bangras" we are so fond of calling, they flood the streets. What more can I say? Bringing back the days when I came to Singapore myself, I was but a 5 year old dolt. In a sense that makes me a natural Singaporean, plus that dual nationality. I wouldn't dwell too much on foreign stuff, because it just makes my head even bigger.
Anyway, all things come to an end. I shall stop bothering you, the reader with my ranting. See you when I see you!
