Rubbish. Absolute pure un-blemished rubbish. The big fat talk about environmental conservation in Singapore, do we really mean it? So much good it will actually do the world if we do something about the environment. Are the world's biggest polluters doing anything?
The answer: a very BIG, a very FAT NO!
Alright then, should we do anything about it? Maybe, maybe not. Some people say a little goes a long way, while some don't really care a hodgepodge arse about anything. Well, I say the government SHOULD do something about it, perhaps stepping up penalties and giving citizens more power to apprehend these culprits.
Back to more lighthearted topics. I am so getting fat. FAT! Why? Lack of exercise, too much junk food, BLAH. I need to lose some weight, for my own health sake and maybe a little for others, like saving a little petrol for my dad. HAH!
Distantly I see myself living in bliss, with wife and kids etc. I know (or hope) that is how the story is going to end, but I have TOTALLY no idea how to get there. Maybe walking a step at a time without too much anticipation is what I should do.
To the movies I went, and I watched a re-run of The Pursuit of Happiness. Damn it, I will never be able to watch that particular one dry-eyed. I know its unbecoming of me to shed fluid from my ocular globes, but I just can't help it really. Will Smith is such a ****ing good actor, he can probably be at 3 places at once. No, that's just how good he really is.
Finally get my deserved break. 7 days without having to go to base is a real blessing, in fact I've been waiting months for this. Incredibly, I am now officially 2.5 months away from the day I've been waiting for more than a year. Don't have to tell anyone to let you guys know what that day is!
People may not know it but I do have a peculiar hobby. Started in the U.S. and still flourishing there is something called Pen-and-Paper RPG. It originated from wargames with mass skirmishes and macro battles (like RISK). Well, it took 2 geniuses to change the focus from large battlefields to a single person, so called the Hero. Players then get to do what their specific characters would do, in the context of a science fiction, fantasy or modern story setting. Much more story based than a simple RISK game, imagination of players can be materialised in the form of character actions, personalities and unique fighting styles. I was gladly introduced to the game of Dungeons and Dragons by a friend and I am really hooked. Gamers are the geeks, nerds and uninteresting bunch, so they say. I believe we have more imagination, and well, much more tact in spending our time than those who rather go clubbing and waste away amidst alcohol and dancing (eh?).
Christmas was uneventful, other than lots of food and such (make me fat). I believe I simply have not enough faculty to bring myself to bear on the issue of relationships. Oh well, gaming will do, or perhaps someone will take an interest in me for being a nerd.
Cheers, and MERRY CHRISTMAS to all single guys, gamers and people who give a damn about the environment!
